California today. We're starting with California content because California's employment law is genuinely different from other states, and we'd rather do California well than serve every state adequately. Expansion to additional states is on our roadmap.

By employee count: 1-4, 5-49, 50-74, 75-99, 100-299, and 300+. Different size brackets trigger different legal requirements, so the templates you need shift as your company grows. You select your bracket at signup and can update it anytime as your business changes.

Tier 2 (Standard): everything in Foundation plus a newsletter covering legislative updates (PAGA, leave laws, minimum wage, and similar).

Tier 3 (Comprehensive): everything in Standard plus detailed pitfalls, examples, and edge-case guidance for high-risk documents.

Yes, anytime through your account portal. Switches take effect right away, with charges or credits prorated for the rest of your current billing period.
Yes, anytime through your account portal. No phone calls, no retention scripts, no "wait, before you go" emails. You keep access through the end of your current billing period.
You keep them. The templates you customized during your subscription are yours to continue using under our perpetual license. What ends is your access to new templates, updates, and the newsletter. The documents you've already built stay with your business.
No. We've intentionally priced subscriptions to be accessible without needing a trial structure. If a subscription doesn't work for you, you can cancel within your first billing period and keep what you've customized.
Generally no, except where legally required. Our pricing is structured to be fair upfront rather than promising refunds we'd have to recover through higher prices. The perpetual license on customized templates means even a short subscription gives you lasting value.
All major credit and debit cards, processed through Stripe. We don't store your card details; Stripe handles all of that.

How to use the templates well

Download it, open it in Word or Google Docs, replace the bracketed fields with your business-specific information, review the document for any business-specific adjustments needed, and have your attorney review the customized version before you sign or distribute it.
Most templates take fifteen to thirty minutes to customize for a typical small business. Complex documents like employee handbooks take longer. Each template includes specific directions for customization at the top.
Reply to any of our emails with your question. We read every message. For substantive legal questions, we'll tell you when you need an attorney instead of giving you a worse answer.
No. Our license is for businesses to customize templates for their own use. We don't operate as an HR consultant or document preparation service. If you need that level of help, we recommend hiring an HR consultant or attorney.
